Your Senior Advocate Here

Fast Facts About Seniors & Downsizing (1920 x 1080 px)

Your Senior Advocate here…YES I’ve become a senior myself and as I assist clients and family go through these next phases of life, it gives me the opportunity to pass on wisdom and resources gained from the collective experiences.

The statistics below have various sources of information that might be helpful depending on where you or your loved one might be on the spectrum of life. Did you know a recent study of Real Estate industry demographic says that 36% of Realtors are over the age of 55?

Whether second career or like me, licensed since my twenties, they add a level of life experience to your real estate experience perhaps that is worth seeking out.

While researching the statistics presented below, I’ve discovered a very comprehensive website that has a lot of education information about all phases of senior living and progression to all types of living situations. www.Seniorly.com You DON’T have to find a local advisor to access all of the helpful information on their site.

For example: The following are all available there in articles, worksheets, resources: Senior Living Cost Calculator; Care Quiz – based on type of care you are researching; Comparison of Costs in nearby cities; and, Definitive Guides for Active Adult communities; Skilled Nursing; Memory Care; Independent Living; Continuing Care; Home Care, Board and Care and Respite Care. It’s a wealth of information.

There are Touring Checklists for all of the categories listed above.

Something fun to add this month are activities for everyone:

-Exploratorium after dark – Thursday Evenings 6-10 pm, Pier 15. They have a variety of speakers and events for those over 18.

-DeYoung Museum in San Francisco has a temporary exhibit my husband is going to take me to of Paul McCartney photographs. He’s a big Beatles Fan.

- Academy of Sciences’ East and West Gardens! Get up close to the Thirteen oversized, animatronic dinosaurs have taken up residence in the imposing T. rex, the feathered Deinonychus, and the duck-billed Parasaurolophus, and see them move and roar. The Academy also has plenty of activities for kids and families to enjoy during Dino Days, from arts and crafts to a puppet theater.
